Bus terminal at Viru Keskus

Passengers from outside of Tallinn, who are not entitled to free travel, can buy a ticket, travelcard (Ühiskaart), or electronic ticket from the R-Kiosk shop at the bus terminal.

The bus terminal at Viru Keskus was opened on 7 May 2004, and buses were rerouted to the terminal in three stages between 24 April and 1 June 2004. The three stages saw the rerouting, respectively, of bus routes running to and from Lasnamäe, Pirita, and Pärnu maantee. The terminal serves a total of 14 routes (1A, 8, 14, 15, 18, 19, 29, 34A, 35, 38, 40, 44, 48, and 51) managed from the dispatch centre on Hobujaama Street.

The bus station located under Viru Keskus contains six underground bus stops and two above-ground reserve stops, which are located next to the terminal on Laikmaa Street and are used for emergencies. From 1 January 2014, the terminal serves 850 departures per day, incl. close to 65 buses per hour during peak hours.

The terminal offers easy access to bus stops and features a spacious and modern waiting hall. The terminal is equipped with information boards and electronic online information points. The terminal is equipped with an electronic bus departure control system, which ensures that buses depart right on schedule.
